The following are some of the posts I’ve been putting up over the last few days on Syria. Please remember them in your prayers:

There are no more children in #Homs, #Syria – they are all men and women now!

I read on my cousin’s status that our building in Syria has been taken over and looted by Assad’s army. Good thing we donated all our stuff to charity when the conflict started!

Take the initiative to give out of love to those you love before it is take from you through hate by those you hate:
A while back, we took the initiative to donate all our things in Syria to the needy. Today we found out our house had been looted by regime “servicemen” (a.k.a. thugs). By donating to charity, Allah protected us from getting upset when our house was looted and we ensured it was the needy who got the goods.
Its amazing how a would-be calamity can turn into a moment of joy through the obedience of Allah. I do not say this to boast or out of arrogance, but as a lesson to those who wish to benefit 🙂

The bitter-sweet life of Syria; my cousin is complaining that he can’t download apps from the app store inside Syria!

“I knew a boy called Ala’a. He was only six years old. He didn’t understand what was happening. I’d say that six-year-old boy was tortured more than anyone else in the room. He wasn’t given food or water for three days, and he was so weak he used to faint all the time. He was beaten regularly. I watched him die. He only survived for three days and then he simply died. He was terrified all the time. They treated his body as though he was a dog.”

Ali Hussein Nassif, a founding member of Hezbollah, was killed near Homs over the weekend. “They said they were there for Jihad and to help Assad defeat the terrorists.”
– How politics can blind someone such that killing civilians becomes a noble thing is something I will never understand. Disgusting…
