Tweets of Truth

The following are some of the posts I’ve been putting up over the last few days on Syria. Please remember them in your prayers:

There are no more children in #Homs, #Syria – they are all men and women now!

—————————————————————————————————————————————————————–

I read on my cousin’s status that our building in Syria has been taken over and looted by Assad’s army. Good thing we donated all our stuff to charity when the conflict started!

—————————————————————————————————————————————————————–

Take the initiative to give out of love to those you love before it is take from you through hate by those you hate:

A while back, we took the initiative to donate all our things in Syria to the needy. Today we found out our house had been looted by regime “servicemen” (a.k.a. thugs). By donating to charity, Allah protected us from getting upset when our house was looted and we ensured it was the needy who got the goods.

Its amazing how a would-be calamity can turn into a moment of joy through the obedience of Allah. I do not say this to boast or out of arrogance, but as a lesson to those who wish to benefit 🙂

ARGH!! They cant do this!
The harrowing reality of what goes on in #Syria has just hit home..

The bitter-sweet life of Syria; my cousin is complaining that he can’t download apps from the app store inside Syria!

We just called our uncle who has been besieged in #syria for days. In a quiet, hollow voice he whispered “I can’t speak, something is happening” – i.e. the sniper was waiting to shoot them from the rooftops, the tanks were firing shells outside or the gun battles are raging outside. Take your pick as to what he meant, but it doesn’t sound good…
.
He’s survived 3 days with little food, electricity and other basic amenities. According to my auntie, mobs of army gun squads are moving door to door, breaking in, killing its inhabitants taking anything inside. Yesterday, they came to my uncles place but he managed to keep them out.
.
The situation is intensifying fast. Each day has become a battle to survive. Please pray for the well being of all the people of Syria and that they survive to see the day when peace returns to the beautiful streets of Syria
I never ceased to be amazed by the number of donors out there – many of whom choose to remain anonymous! They give for Allah’s sake and His alone (blows all economics theories out of the water!)

The worst thing you will read today:

“I knew a boy called Ala’a. He was only six years old. He didn’t understand what was happening. I’d say that six-year-old boy was tortured more than anyone else in the room. He wasn’t given food or water for three days, and he was so weak he used to faint all the time. He was beaten regularly. I watched him die. He only survived for three days and then he simply died. He was terrified all the time. They treated his body as though he was a dog.”

For anyone wishing to make a donation for the convoy going out on the 28th, here’s the link 😀

…and for those who can’t give, use your prayers to support us, for that is what will turn the tides of this revoultion, by God’s will!http://www.justgiving.com/packagesofhope

So it took 5 Turkish people to get killed (may they rest in peace inshallah) to get an emergency meeting, didn’t realise Syrian blood was that cheap…

Ali Hussein Nassif, a founding member of Hezbollah, was killed near Homs over the weekend. “They said they were there for Jihad and to help Assad defeat the terrorists.”

– How politics can blind someone such that killing civilians becomes a noble thing is something I will never understand. Disgusting…

Saint Mary’s Church lies in the Hmeideyeh district of #Homs, #Syria and is arguably one of the oldest Churches in the World. The original foundations of the Church date back to 59 AD. Here it is today after it was targeted with tens of rockets by the Syrian Regime while they claim to be bringing about reform however, in reality they are destroying the rich heritage and deep history of Homs. Nothing is spared from the destruction of this regime
